greatest of these is love

Tue Dec-20th-2005 // Filed under: Things Are Happening

BBC News reports that gay couples in Scotland are getting married, now that they can. The piece is pretty much what you’d expect, nothing particularly noteworthy. Still, this part got my attention, as it always does:

They were cheered by supporters but there was also a protest against the ceremonies outside the city hall.

I know, I know — that’s nothing new, and all things considered, if that’s all the hateful bastards did, the couples got off relatively lightly. Still, I have to ask a rhetorical question here: what kind of a colossal dickhead do you need to be to you actually go out with your adorable little Jesus sign that you spent the night before making and protest someone else’s wedding?

Love thy neighbor, my ass.

  1. It is, as always, possible to justify any opinion, no matter how hateful, by saying it is against the Bible.

There is nothing you can do against people like this. If there was no religious grounds oppose gay marriage, they would find another excuse.

It is just hatred, pure and simple.
