follow the signal

Allow me to wax commercial for a moment.

The first Alan Wake DLC pack, The Signal, comes out today — more exciting adventures, new challenges and a big bunch of weird shit thrown in for good measure. I think we did a pretty good job with it.

It’s free if you bought a new copy of the game — there’s a coupon with a code in it in the box you can use to download it for free, or you can pay 560 Microsoft points for it. What’s that, about seven bucks? That’s crazy cheap, yo.

  1. I love ’em, but the DLCs kind of felt as if they were clipboarding us – in random order – all the scenery that didn’t make the cut for the main game. Not that it was a detriment.

  2. I should probably point out that we did create a lot of new scenery for these packs, though. Obviously, you also spend quite a bit of time in familiar-looking spots (Bright Falls, for example, or the Lodge) — after all, everything you see is coming from Wake’s memories and imagination — but there were quite a few completely new areas in there as well.

Still! Glad to hear that you enjoyed them, that’s the main thing. =)
